Most common energy drainers you aren’t noticing

Let’s create a list of daily things that drain our energy, but most of us don’t pay enough attention to them.

In the grief journey, it’s a must to try your best and save your energy as best as possible. The grieving process is very hard, so we don’t want to add extra weight to it.

I’ve come to realize that these ”little things” drain so much energy, and many of you probably haven’t considered them harmful yet. Pay extra attention to the following:

  1. Living in the past. Thinking over and over again about past mistakes won’t fix them. Yes, we should learn from those mistakes and get our lesson, but going back constantly doesn’t change anything. If you are overthinking all the time, you may bring your body into a state of a burnout.
  2. Trying to prove your worth to everybody. Not everybody has to like you. If you know someone who claims that everyone loves them, that person is wearing a mask and playing their role with a purpose to get from others what they want. And that, of course, isn’t something anyone should brag about.
  3. Being unkind to yourself. Forget about negative self-talk. Taking great of yourself is crucial if you want to develop true self love and become stronger. This article can help you to overcome negative selftalk.
  4. Keeping your feeling bottled up inside. Don’t throw them under the carpet and pretend they don’t exist. If you do this with your feelings, I promise they will hunt you and come back even stronger, but not in a positive manner. It’s always great to talk with someone about what you feel, or even write it down to clear your thoughts.
  5. Wasting time on stuff that isn’t important. Setting clear priorities and moving in certain direction will bring you far away.
  6. Ignoring the things that make you happy. Create a list of everything that makes you happy and try to do at least one of such activities on a daily basis. Our serotonin levels matter.
  7. Saying yes when you want to say no. Stop draining your precious energy by saying yes to the things you want to say NO. Please, just try it.
  8. Pretending around others. If you have to pretend in someone else’s company, that’s not your company. Let them meet you on your level.
