I’ve noticed that people are becoming more and more interested in finding out how the full moon affects them.
When I was young, I remember that only my grandpa talked about this, and the other part of the family called him a bit ”lunatic”. The story was that the full Moon affects only a bit ”crazy” people, but today we have realized and noticed what changes it can bring not only to our mental, but also physical health.
In some of our previous blog posts, I have already wrote about how the full moon affects those with depression and anxiety, about which you can find more here.
Now, we are taking a step ahead and trying to find out what does the full Moon does to different types of personalities.
Are you a sensitive introvert that has noticed some changes when the full Moon arrives? Don’t worry, adrenaline-seeking extroverts have their own symptoms as well, and here’s what is different:
- The Empath or Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).
For soft and kind hearts, the full Moon usually just makes your emotions even bigger. Heightened emotions unfortunately don’t come alone, but bring difficulties with sleeping as well. If you already have issues with insomnia, I hope this article can help you. Besides mentioned, you can also experience increased levels of anxiety, followed by restlessness throughout those days. And while the motional boundaries feel thinner, you will not only have your own emotions on the maximum, but experience the energy of others in higher amounts, too. Is there something you can do about this as a HSP? I would like to recommend reducing social interaction and focusing on healthy daily habits that will improve your sleep quality – for example, an intense workout. - Do others see you as the analytical thinker? If you are someone who is always detailed oriented, then you are someone who is logical and leads a very structured life. Unfortunately, the full Moon can affect your sleep in a negative way as well. Heightened mental activity is there as well. Probably, the full Moon just make us who we are – but it truly exaggerates, doesn’t it? 🤭 An analytical thinker will overthink even more during this period of the month and find trouble relaxing. What can help you to erase the symptoms at least a bit? I would recommend breathwork to calm the mind and journaling, so you can sort your thoughts in an easier manner.
- The full Moon and extroverts. Are you an outgoing thrill-seeker? I believe that the full Moon will not only bring more excitement to your life, but unfortunately impulsiveness as well. Take care that your increased activity doesn’t result in some big & bad decisions. Sure late-night energy spikes can be beneficial if you need to finish an important project, but don’t let it lead you to a risk-taking behavior.
- The Introvert. For our dear inner explorers, the full Moon phases can increase deep thinking, but also make your intuition grow even stronger. We, introverts, always believe that it’s a good time for introspection and personal insight, but be ready for emotional or spiritual breakouts. The best advice I can give is to use this time of the month to release emotional baggage. Because your dreams can become more vivid too, I love journaling about them.
- The Caregiver. We all love nurturers, but we must not forget that they can become overwhelmed if others around them are emotionally reactive. The caregivers can experience emotional exhaustion during the full Moon and have the urge to help others even more. Nurturers are feeling responsible for others’ mood, which can bring disrupted household dynamics. Setting emotional boundaries is a must during these days, as well as prioritizing self-care. The full Moon can help you to remember to take care of your own needs. Still don’t know how to set healthy boundaries with others? I believe this article can help.
