In one of my previous blog posts, I talked about how trauma and loss can affect your self-esteem in a negative manner. Besides that, you have been through a lot and will probably isolate to try to get better.
As time passes, you may catch yourself staying in a comfort zone for too long, while life goes on and you will probably have to resolve a lot of health, work, family, or relationship problems.
If you are running away from solving those problems and running away from responsibility, this article may be very helpful for you.
I want to show you how we can together rebuild your strength, or better said bravery.
Here are some of the best things you can do:
Acknowledge Your Fears: Identify what scares you and understand why. Sometimes, just naming a fear can reduce its power over you. Is it anxiety linked to your biggest fears, or better said - is it making the fears bigger than they should be? Often, after experiencing such a huge loss in life we have a tendency to start catastrophizing every single situation, expecting the worst. This is normal because you want to try to save yourself and not let yourself experience anything similar to what you did before, but it is important to acknowledge that all that doesn't have to be real.
Starting Small - The Power Of Little Steps: Take small steps outside your comfort zone. Each small success builds confidence and prepares you for bigger challenges.
Setting Realistic Goals: Breaking down larger goals into manageable tasks is always useful. Achieving these smaller goals can boost your courage to tackle bigger ones.
Build a Support Network: Surround yourself with supportive people who encourage you and can offer advice or help when needed. Read more about how emotionally safe people look and behave in this article.
Understanding that failure is a part of growth. With each experience, you grow and learn how to act in a better manner next time the same or similar situation appears.
Visualize Success: I have already said that you are probably visualizing the worst case scenarios all the time. Instead, try to visualize the best possible outcome for every problem that appears.
Educate Yourself: Knowledge can reduce fear. Learn as much as you can about the challenges you’re facing to feel more prepared and confident.
Celebrate Your Wins: Acknowledge and celebrate your successes, no matter how small. Recognizing your achievements can boost your self-esteem and bravery.
Bravery doesn’t mean being fearless; it’s about facing your fears and moving forward despite them.
