Why you may be oversleeping - reasons for sleeping too much

We have already talked about insomnia which is most of the times linked to stress and anxiety, but barely anyone talks about hypersomnia, or sleeping too much.

We can talk about hypersomnia issues when the person constantly sleeps more than 10 hours per day.

If you are waking up tired every single day, but sleeping too much, these may be the reasons:

1. Your nervous system. Your nervous system is overwhelmed with everything that you have experienced, and it needs a lot more time to regulate. Your body is working on high alert when you are awake.

2. Depression. One of the most common reasons for oversleeping - depression. We have written a lot about this stage of the grieving process, so feel free to get more information about it in our e-book.

3. The inability to solve your problems and issues. You know that some of your problems, as a bereaved parent, cannot be solved. Therefore, you feel that there is no ability to find a solution, so you run away from your emotions by sleeping - hypersomnia. Learn how to ask for help with these tips.

4. Feeling there's no way out. You understand that the grieving process is a journey, and usually - it is a long one and hard to handle. That's exactly why your mind and body tend to oversleep, to regain energy for daily tasks and challenges in the healing process.
